Zipline now at Leyte Park Hotel



Saturday, April 9, 2011Engineer Wilson Chan, general manager of the hotel, said the zipline at Leyte Park offers convenience among those who want to try the extreme sports, as it is only located within the city.THE first-ever urban zipline in Eastern Visayas formally opened Friday as an additional attraction of the Leyte Park Resort Hotel in Tacloban City.

The zipline at Leyte Park connects the hill top portion of the hotel compound and the football ground. The distance is said to be 200 meters.

Chan said they developed the zipline to further encourage tourists to visit the city.
The operator said their service is not costly, as visitors would only need to spend P100 for the first ride during weekdays. Succeeding rides will cost P50. During weekends, the first ride costs P150 and P75 for the succeeding rides.
The zipline crew was sent to Davao for a training to ensure that those who would try the adventure would be safe.
The management said that aside from the present zip, a second zip is soon to be constructed. It will land at the side of San Pedro Bay to zipliners the aerial and scenic beauty of the bay.
The management said visitors who tried to zip came to Leyte Park at night, as its offers a comfortable weather.(Leyte Samar Daily Express)
